Thin Sterling Silver Stacking Rings



Elegant, thin sterling silver stacking rings made using the lost wax casting process. Wear these rings on their own or stack them with other rings. You could also stack two or three of these rings together or combine it with its matching solid 14k gold stacking ring

These rings are approximately 1.7mm thick and 21mm wide. The top section (from the top of the ring band) is 4mm tall.

These rings are available in US sizes 5 - 10 and Aus/UK sizes J - T1/2. I have given US size options but I am very happy to make rings in UK/Australian sizes. Just scroll down to the bottom and select 'Other - will advise' and leave me a note during checkout with your UK/Aus size.

Lost Wax Casting

Lost wax casting is an ancient metalsmithing technique. It is used to create duplicates of pieces, including shapes that cannot easily be made using traditional fabrication techniques.
The jeweller creates a wax model of the piece (in this case ring) and sends it off to the casting business. A plaster mould of the wax model is made and then filled with molten metal (sterling silver, gold, bronze etc) and allowed to cool. The jeweller then files down this master and cleans it up before returning it to the casting business to have a permanent mould made. This mould can be used to have further wax model copies made and more metal pieces cast.

I carved this ring out of wax and have had a mould made. When I receive your sterling silver ring back from the casting business, I will file it down where necessary, clean it up and polish it.
