This feminist bracelet is made from solid 2.5mm wide sterling silver and features a dangling sterling silver disc stamped with the female symbol (♀).
I made the bangle in the photos for myself one afternoon after a woman was assaulted for fighting for women's rights. I've had some people comment on it so I'm now offering it for sale. US$5 from each bangle sold will be donated to the Global Fund for Women (www.globalfundforwomen.org).
The bangle shown in the photos is oxidised but it is also available with a non-oxidised, shiny polish finish.
Oxidation is the process of colouring and ultimately blackening silver through exposure to sulfur. The bracelet is dipped in a diluted substance called Liver of Sulfur until the desired colour has been achieved. A lot of the black oxidation is then removed through sanding.
This bangle is made from 100% recycled sterling silver.
This bangle comes in 5 sizes:
